What a pleasure it was to work with you. I was impressed from our first telephone conversation but I never imagined the professional level you would rise to at our conference. We threw you the biggest curve ball I can imagine (at the last minute) and you handled it without missing a beat. I don't know of anyone else who wouldn't have been rattled after being told they would follow an award that recognized an extraordinary response to the events of September 11. Not only was an award given, but an incredibly emotional video was shown that set a very different tone than the one I had envisioned you would create. You went on to present everything I expected and more. Within moments you had taken the audience from one mindset to another. Incredible is the only word I can think of to describe it.

But let me back up to the preparation you put into your keynote for our event. I was impressed with the fact that you really got to know about the audience you would be addressing. I can count on one hand the number of speakers who took the time to ask as many questions about not only the people in the profession, but about the profession of marketing. The points made in your presentation really hit home because of the research you did. In past years many of our speakers had no idea who they were talking to and the marketers resented it. You built the trust we so desperately needed to repair that damage.

Last, but certainly not least, was the message itself. I was moved to see many of our marketers come up to you after the presentation. To me, that is a very clear signal you connected with the audience. Your presentation came on the last full day of the conference and I sought to give our members an energetic, powerful insight to take away with them. To simply say that you accomplished that is such an understatement. The comments I heard throughout the day confirmed and reconfirmed what an excellent choice we made in asking you to speak. Taking risks can be scary to anyone, at any age, in any profession but with your insight, I know many of us feel we can now take those risks and be better off for doing so.

I just wanted to take the opportunity to thank you for the outstanding presentation and services you provided to our retreat. You went above and beyond the call of duty with your services. It was really nice to have you present for our morning activities. We had numerous comments from our guests about how they really liked the opportunity to speak with you. I also personally appreciated all of your help with the audiovisual setup. You really went above and beyond when you stepped in and helped out with our morning icebreaker, which wasn't even on your agenda for the day. Everything you did was excellent.

You were a pleasure to work with. Our committee and guests enjoyed your presentation. After reviewing our evaluations, it's obvious that they all received the message we were hoping to portray. A number of them listed taking risks and overcoming fears as the most important thing they learned from the experience. I believe that your approach really got them to think about what more they could do for the Delta team. We even had more people than usual sign up to help with next year's retreat!

I want to also thank you for the great raffle prizes. They were a big hit. A number of people have called me to find out who won your book, because they too wanted to read it. I have referred a number of people to your website.

Your "Anything I can do to help" attitude was refreshing. Your life experiences were so interesting that it really makes for an effective presentation, plus personally you were so friendly that it made it that much more interesting.

The combination of what you had to say and how you said it made it a memorable event. And your slide presentation was a perfect compliment to your story telling ability, which kept the audience captivated while reinforcing the program's message.
